Projects

Deploying a Secure Web Application in the Cloud

A year 4 project that highlighted various ways to deploy web applications on a cloud platform. A strong focus of this project was on security, deploying Web Application Firewalls and Linux security tools to ensure the application is protected against unauthorized access and common vulnerabilities. Penetration testing was carried out to ensure the application and server had robust security measures in place.

Cybersecurity Awareness Training

A year 3 project I carried out detailed the importance of training end users on cyber attacks, and highlighted a real world business who had recently benefit from implementing such training.

Web Development

Developed a number of sites throughout the course of my degree, including this CV website.

Work Experience

OS Update Manager at Timewise Systems - Responsible for ensuring that clients devices are kept up to date on the latest version of Android OS to protect against threats. (2023 - Present)

Repair Technician at Timewise Systems - Troubleshooting and repairing handheld devices. Also involved configuring devices so they are ready to use when back on site. (2018 - 2022)

Work I'm Interested In

Networking - One of the reasons I returned to college was to have the qualifications necessary to apply for roles in the networking sector. This is still an area I would love to enter, and my high grades in modules related to this sector show my interest and application to that line of work.

Cybersecurity - Another area I would love to learn more about is cyber security, and I have carried out 2 individual year long college projects invesigating this field.

Hobbies/Interests

With a full time job, part time course, and a 2 year old, hobbies and interests of my own have dwindled. My child is now priority and keeping her smiling is my greatest past time. When I do get an hour to myself, it's usually spent in a book or video game.

I also enjoy travelling and like to get away someplace in the world as often as possible. My favorite destinations include Lake Garda, New York, and a year couldn't go by without a trip to Disneyland.
